Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang is scheduled to pay visits to Indonesia and Japan on May 6-11, 2018. The visit to Indonesia would be a reciprocal one and at the invitation of President Joko Widodo, said the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Hua Chunying.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan earlier said that Jokowi would receive Li on Sunday, May 6. On May 7-8, he will have several agendas in Indonesia, and will then depart for Japan on May 8, according to Pandjaitan.

Foreign Affairs Minister Retno LP Marsudi was informed about the planned visit when she was in Beijing on Feb 9, 2018.

Prime Minister Li Keqiang is expected to discuss China’s One Belt and One Road Initiative with President Joko Widodo, the construction of Jakarta-Bandung rapid train, and efforts to intensify bilateral trade ties between the two countries.

His last visit to Indonesia was in 2008 as deputy prime minister of China.
