Club Med, the pioneer of premium all-inclusive holidays, has officially opened reservations for Club Med Borneo, its second resort in Malaysia following Club Med Cherating.
Set to welcome its first guests in November 2026, the new resort invites Indonesian travellers to discover the natural beauty, rich heritage and adventurous spirit of Sabah through an effortless all-inclusive holiday.
Set across 17 hectares of beachfront land in Kuala Penyu, Club Med Borneo features 400 rooms, including an Exclusive Collection space, surrounded by tropical forests and the pristine waters of the South China Sea. The resort is also set to become Club Med’s first sustainably built beach resort in Asia, with a target of achieving BREEAM certification.

A Tropical Escape Made Easy from Indonesia
Club Med Borneo offers Indonesian travellers an international beach escape without the hassle of long-haul travel. Indonesian passport holders can travel to Malaysia visa-free, although they must complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) before arrival.
Direct flights from Jakarta to Kota Kinabalu take approximately two hours and 40 minutes, while travellers from Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali can also connect via Kuala Lumpur. From Kota Kinabalu International Airport, the resort is approximately two hours away by road.
Once at the resort, guests can enjoy an all-inclusive experience covering accommodation, dining, an open bar, kids’ clubs, land and water sports, entertainment and return airport transfers, allowing them to focus entirely on enjoying their holiday.

Between Lush Rainforests and Tropical Seas
Club Med Borneo brings together nature, culture and adventure in one tropical setting. Guests can enjoy the Main Infinity Pool and Splash Park, explore local flavours across three dining concepts, unwind at the spa and experience Club Med’s signature entertainment.
Beyond the resort, guests can discover Sabah through local cultural experiences, guided nature walks and environmental workshops. Excursions also offer opportunities to explore destinations such as Mari-Mari Cultural Village, Pulau Tiga and Sabah’s wildlife-rich river ecosystems.
Families can also reconnect through shared adventures designed for all ages, while the weekly Sunset Ritual brings guests together on the beach for light bites, ambient music and spectacular sunsets over Kuala Penyu.

A More Thoughtful Way to Experience Borneo
Sustainability is central to Club Med Borneo’s development. The resort has been designed with a low-density footprint that respects the surrounding mangroves and coastal forests, supported by energy- and water-saving systems, natural ventilation and Club Med’s global ‘Bye-Bye Plastics’ initiative.
The project also aims to contribute to the local community by creating employment opportunities and fostering engagement with neighbouring communities.
