Life must be pretty sweet for this graceful athlete who has competed around the world who recently visited the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia to shred some waves. Buitendag teamed up with fellow South African sports filmmaker Chris Rogers to create this amazing surf video.
Bianca Buitendag is a goofyfooter who spent her formative years with her father and brothers surfing in South Africa. She spoke only Afrikaans until she was 12, but by age 14 she was traveling the coast to compete. Her father Colin, a well-known South African surfer, supported her throughout her career until his sudden death.
