The vibe of Sunday morning at Anomali Coffee was filled with energy as over 100 participants gathered for Fun Walk: Hear the Step, a collaborative event by Hearpeers Indonesia, RS SS Medika, MED-EL Indonesia, International Hearing Centre, and Anomali Coffee.
The 2.4 km walk, led by Prof. Helmi, Sp.THT-KL., MARS, began with warm-up exercises guided by young MED-EL cochlear implant users Mika, Sahnaz, and Ditta. The event symbolised a shared step forward for cochlear implant and hearing aid users, candidates, and their families in maintaining hearing health.
After the walk, participants joined a mini talk show with Dr Shofiah, Sp.THT (RS SS Medika) emphasised the importance of early detection of hearing loss in children, highlighting newborn hearing screening and early intervention with hearing technology.

A heartfelt session followed with three mothers from Hearpeers Indonesia — “The Three Heroines of Hearpeers” — sharing their children’s inspiring hearing journeys. They also introduced Hearpeers as a global community where hearing technology users and families connect, learn, and support each other.
The event concluded with a lively door prize session and closing remarks. Prof. Helmi from RS. SS. Medika, Andi Iskandar from PT MED-EL Indonesia, and Irvan from Anomali Coffee all expressed their joy and commitment to continuing such meaningful collaborations.
Fun Walk: Hear the Step was not just about walking together, but moving together towards a brighter future for hearing health — through awareness, early detection, and strong community support.
