Seminyak’s food scene never really slows down, and among the many dining destinations in Seminyak, Shichirin has carved out its own space by putting Japanese fire cooking front and centre. The setting is warm and contemporary, designed as much for a relaxed dinner as it is for a full night out with friends.
As one of the more established names among Japanese restaurants in Seminyak, Shichirin has built its reputation on the shichirin grill, teppanyaki, and gyukatsu. The open-kitchen setup turns the cooking process into part of the evening.
Precision on the Grill
Every dish at Shichirin follows the same idea: keep the ingredients honest and let the technique do the work. The kitchen leans on grilling, searing, and light frying to bring out flavour without overcomplicating it.

The Fiery Blazing Sushi is the restaurant’s most theatrical dish, served tableside over an open flame that sears fresh salmon and Hokkaido scallop before it’s finished with crème fraîche, ikura, and a touch of truffle oil. From there, the menu moves easily between quick bites such as the Crispy Rice Beef and Prawn Toast and heartier plates such as the Rib Eye MB5+ and Gyu Katsu, all tied together by the same attention to fire and timing.
Sake, Sours, and Something Cool
The drinks list borrows just as much from Japan as the kitchen does, incorporating sake, shochu, and yuzu into signature cocktails such as the Sakura Martini and Ai Shitemo Ii. Familiar names such as the Old Fashioned and Espresso Martini are also on hand for guests who would rather keep it simple.
For anyone skipping alcohol, the Shichirin Sparkle and a line-up of matcha and chocolate milkshakes make easy alternatives. A short list of teas and coffee rounds things out for a quieter close to the meal.

A Seasonal Kaiseki Menu
This season, Shichirin is introducing a Kaiseki menu, built around the same seasonality and discipline that define traditional Japanese fine dining. It’s a limited offering available through December 2026, exclusively by reservation.
Where the regular menu leans on the immediacy of the grill, the Kaiseki format takes guests through a slower, course-by-course journey across Shichirin’s full range. It’s a different way to experience the same kitchen, one course at a time rather than one dish at a time.
