Sederhana Restaurant, one of Indonesia’s most iconic homegrown restaurant franchises specialising in Padang cuisine, will open its first branch in the Land of the Kangaroos, specifically in Melbourne.
This announcement was made via a photo uploaded to the Instagram account @sederhana.australia on Friday, the 1st of May. The first three photos shared by the new account offer a sneak peek at the sign in front of the restaurant: “Restoran Sederhana: Opening Soon Legendary Taste from Indonesia.”

Bringing Indonesia’s legacy to a new place, and Melbourne, you’re chosen to be our first chapter in this journey. We can’t wait to open these doors and welcome you home. Until then, keep an eye on our progress,” wrote the soon-to-be-opened Melbourne branch of Sederhana Restaurant in the post’s caption.
