Love met tradition in a truly graceful way as Gran Meliá Jakarta hosted Celestial Elegance – A Regal Fusion of Chinese Ceremony, a two-day wedding showcase held on Saturday and Sunday, 15–16 November 2025, at Tien Chao, the hotel’s signature Chinese restaurant.
From 11:00 AM to 09:00 PM, guests were welcomed to explore the refined beauty of Chinese wedding culture, reinterpreted with a modern touch that spoke to both timeless romance and contemporary elegance.
Bringing together an ensemble of the city’s most sought-after wedding professionals, the event provided an inspiring journey for couples preparing for their big day. Among the collaborators were Vidi Daniel, a renowned makeup artist known for his sophisticated bridal looks; Lumineux, celebrated for capturing emotions through cinematic photography and videography; and Studio Vian, whose intricate gowns blend classic silhouettes with modern design. Completing the showcase were Christin Wu for custom shoes, SAS & Nan Qi Pao for tailored attire, Peggy Sharon and Riviera Wedding Organiser for styling and coordination, and a host of other partners, including Luxio Photo, Swan Decoration, Omorfia, Dewwi Entertainment, Métier Jewellery, and Leciel Acc.
The showcase wasn’t merely about aesthetics; it was a cultural homage to the meaningful traditions that shape Chinese weddings. Through the concept of Celestial Elegance, Gran Meliá Jakarta celebrated the depth of rituals such as the Sangjit Ceremony, which symbolises respect, unity, and prosperity between two families. Held at Tien Chao, the event highlighted how the restaurant’s elegant ambience, adorned with warm tones and intricate Chinese elements, provides a truly fitting backdrop for intimate ceremonies like Sangjit or wedding banquets.
Guests were also invited to indulge in a tasting menu specially prepared by the culinary team of Tien Chao, available for couples planning to celebrate their special day at the restaurant or within the hotel.
The carefully curated menu featured signature dishes such as Hot and Sour Seafood with Crab Meat, Roasted Crispy Duck with Hoisin Sauce, and Wok Fried Beef Cubed with Black Pepper Sauce, complemented by a selection of refined desserts like Chilled Coconut with Lychee, Red Dates, and Lemon, and Chilled Lemongrass Jelly with Longan Syrup and Wolfberries. These exclusive sessions, available for lunch and dinner on both days, offered 25 seats per session, allowing couples to savour the flavours of their potential wedding banquet firsthand.
Beyond Tien Chao, Gran Meliá Jakarta also showcased its array of venues that cater to various wedding styles and sizes. For those dreaming of grand receptions, the Lobby Lounge, Café Gran Via, and Jimbaran Garden provide elegant indoor spaces, while couples envisioning an alfresco celebration can find their dream setting at Chillin Pool Bar, where a romantic outdoor atmosphere comes alive under the city’s night sky.
