Tomang-Cawang Toll Road Closed; Demonstrations Continue

Toll Road Closed

Indonesian Toll road operator, PT. Jasa Marga, had closed several inner Jakarta toll roads due to the ongoing student protests on Monday 30th September.

The demonstrations in front of the House of Representatives (DPR) building have led the company to close the toll roads around the Tomang-Cawang area.

Ira Susiyanti, head of marketing and communications at PT. Jasa Marga, said that Monday’s closures are simply due to the mass protests, which had escalated to the Slipi-Tomang area. “In order to maintain the safety of our road users, and due to police discretion, the traffic heading to the location of the student protest is shut,” Ira confirmed.

The traffic from Jagorawi and Jakarta-Cikampek heading towards Semanggi will be re-routed towards Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) area. The company will also make sure that police will assist vehicles stuck in the toll road during the protests.
