13 MOUs Signed at Russian-Indonesian Forum in Moscow

Russian-Indonesian Business Forum

On Thursday 1st August 2019, Moscow had the chance to host the Russian-Indonesian Business Forum where 13 memoranda of understanding were signed.

The signing of the MOU was witnessed by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Russian Federation and Republic of Belarus Wahid Supriyadi, Yogyakarta Governor Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, and Russia’s Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Alexey V. Gruzdev.

The business partnership involves different sectors such as furniture, palm sugar, and food products. One of the MoU signed was for the purchase of coconut shell charcoal between PT Dian Niaga Yogyakarta and Intro Group Ltd/Point Art Russia. PT Mayora Indah also signed a deal to sell crackers and sweets with a value of US$2.5million.

Yesterday, ambassador Wahid Supriyadi said that the trade value between Indonesia and Russia is relatively small at just US$2.6billion, despite the fact that Russia ranks 12th and Indonesia 16th in the G20’s GDP list. The forum is expected to boost ties between the two countries in terms of investment, trade, and tourism partnerships.
