Join us for an enlightening conversation with ethical forager and nomadic cook Dewa Ayu Made at Dome as she delves into the art of foraging and the ancient wisdom of Bali’s food forests.
This discussion will explore the deep-rooted connections between Balinese culture and its ancestral landscapes, highlighting how traditional foraging practices have shaped Bali’s culinary heritage and its relationship with nature.
Made will share her experiences navigating Bali’s lush terrain to discover wild edibles and medicinal plants, emphasising sustainable and respectful harvesting methods that honour both the land and its traditions. In a rapidly changing world, her insights will offer a fresh perspective on the value of local biodiversity, the preservation of indigenous knowledge, and the revival of food sovereignty.
This talk will provide an opportunity to reconnect with the land, see examples of the island’s edible bounty, and learn about practices that sustain Bali’s rich ecological and cultural fabric.
