The Makepung Bupati Cup 2025 is a traditional buffalo race unique to Jembrana, held as part of efforts to preserve the agrarian culture of West Bali. In this event, jockeys from various villages compete for speed atop wooden carts pulled by pairs of buffalo along a muddy rice field track. More than just a form of folk entertainment, the Makepung Bupati Cup also serves as a symbol of community spirit, farmers’ hard work, and local cultural pride that continues to be passed down through generations. The event is scheduled to begin on 24 August 2025.
