Two Years After Launch, Indonesia’s Golden Visa Investment Value Reaches Rp52.1 Trillion

The Directorate General of Immigration recorded an investment inflow of Rp52.1 trillion through the Golden Visa programme as of Monday, the 18th of May, since its launch in July 2024.

This investment figure was generated through the issuance of 1,274 Golden Visas, with the three largest contributions coming from the Corporate Investor category (Index E28D) at Rp50,884,158,768,681, followed by the Individual Investor category not establishing a company (Index E28C) with an investment value of Rp179,387,571,947, and the Individual Investor category establishing a company (Index E28B) with an investment value of Rp130,274,964,522.

The Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, stated that the Golden Visa policy represents a transformation of Indonesia’s immigration policy, making it more progressive, competitive and adaptive to global dynamics.

“This programme serves as part of the national strategy to support economic growth and increased investment, without neglecting security aspects,” Marantoko said on Thursday, the 21st of May.

Published data shows that the three countries with the highest number of Golden Visa holders are the United States (160), followed by China (147), and Taiwan (110).

Indonesia’s Golden Visa offers various benefits for global investors and talent, including long-term residence permits for five to 10 years, no guarantor requirement in Indonesia, the ability to bring family members, and fast and efficient priority immigration services. This policy is expected to create a more competitive investment climate and support the ease-of-doing-business concept in Indonesia.

Marantoko also emphasised that while encouraging investment remains a priority, the implementation of the Golden Visa programme continues to adhere to the principle of selective policy.

We ensure that every visa holder meets security and legal compliance requirements, and makes a real contribution to the national interest, in line with the spirit of immigration for the people,” the Director General of Immigration concluded.
