Apple Tree Pre-School Opens Its 25th Branch in Senayan, Jakarta

Apple Tree Pre-School Indonesia, a pioneer and leader in Early Childhood education, proudly announces the opening of its 25th campus in the heart of Hang Lekir, Senayan, South Jakarta, out of 29 campuses across Indonesia.

The Senayan branch, officially established in September 2025 and set to welcome students for the 2025–2026 Academic Year beginning in January 2026, represents the school’s continuing legacy of shaping bright, confident, and globally-minded young learners.

Founded in July 2000, Apple Tree Pre-School has grown into one of Indonesia’s respected early childhood education providers, serving more than 4,000 students over the last 25 years. The school is known for its forward-thinking curriculum, trilingual programme, and holistic approach to child development. With its expansion into Senayan, the institution reaffirms its commitment to providing internationally-minded, high-quality education that equips children with the skills and values needed for an interconnected future.

Building Strong Foundations in the Early Years

The decision to establish a branch in Senayan stems from Apple Tree Pre-School’s recognition of the vital role that early childhood plays in lifelong success. Research consistently demonstrates that the first five years of life are critical for cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Apple Tree Pre-School’s philosophy embraces this truth, striving to create nurturing, stimulating, and safe environments where children can explore, discover, and develop at their own pace.

“Our mission is not just about academics; it’s about laying the groundwork for children to thrive holistically,” said Ms Angela Merici, Director of Apple Tree Pre-School Senayan. “We are incredibly proud to open our 25th campus, a testament to the trust and support of families across Indonesia. The expansion to Senayan is more than just growth — it is a new home for young learners, where we will continue our commitment to tailoring education to each child’s unique strengths, needs, and abilities. As well as an enduring mission to nurture future generations who are resilient, compassionate, and prepared for the opportunities of tomorrow,” Ms Merici concluded.

A Unique Blend of Global and Local Curriculum

Apple Tree Pre-School distinguishes itself with a forward-thinking curriculum that combines two powerful approaches: an adapted Singaporean framework and Indonesia’s Freedom to Learn curriculum.

The Singaporean model is renowned for its structured focus on foundational skills such as literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving, while also promoting independence and critical thinking. Complementing this, Indonesia’s curriculum emphasises holistic, student-centred learning, encouraging creativity, curiosity, and the preservation of local cultural values.

This innovative integration ensures students are not only academically prepared but also grounded in their cultural identity, growing into well-rounded individuals ready for global challenges. Learning at Apple Tree Pre-School is play-based, inquiry-driven, and joyful — designed to spark a life-long passion for knowledge.

Cultivating Multilingual Fluency

A hallmark of Apple Tree Pre-School is its robust tri-lingual program. From the earliest years, students are immersed in English, Chinese, and Indonesian, developing natural fluency in all three.

“In today’s interconnected world, multilingualism is not just a skill — it is an advantage that opens doors to cultural understanding, empathy, and opportunity,” Ms Merici added. “Through songs, stories, daily conversations, and creative activities, our students learn to think, communicate, and express themselves confidently in multiple languages.”

Studies show that multilingual exposure enhances cognitive flexibility, strengthens memory, and promotes global awareness. By integrating language learning into daily routines, Apple Tree ensures that tri-lingual fluency becomes an enjoyable and seamless part of childhood.
