Celebrating Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day with “Gemilang Nusantara, Legacy Kita Bersama”.
In commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and the 63rd Anniversary of Sarinah, PT Sarinah presented Sarinah Festiloka Kemerdekaan from the 15th to the 31st of August 2025 at the Sarinah Thamrin Building in Jakarta, under the theme “Gemilang Nusantara, Legacy Kita Bersama” (Glorious Nusantara, Our Shared Legacy). The festival combined art, culture, culinary delights, and the creativity of the nation’s youth into an immersive experience that stimulated all the senses.
“Sarinah Festiloka was a platform to celebrate Indonesia’s independence and a space for collaboration to empower local brands and strengthen the creative industry. We wanted people not only to celebrate, but also to experience and take pride in Indonesia’s cultural heritage. This was Sarinah’s real contribution to fostering a spirit of nationalism while supporting the creative economy,” said Raisha Syarfuan, President Director of PT Sarinah.
The festival featured seven main art installations that offered a multisensory experience, alongside a Nusantara culinary festival, a trunk show from ten curated local brands, art performances, and a stage for young musicians. Each installation was designed to engage visitors in exploring the beauty and richness of Nusantara culture, making the overall Sarinah Festiloka experience vibrant and memorable.
The highlight of the celebration took place on August 17, 2025, through the InJourney Pesta Rakyat “Gemilang Nusantara, Legacy Kita Bersama”. This event was a collaboration between Sarinah, InJourney Holding, InJourney Aviation Services (IAS), and InJourney Airports. It showcased a cultural carnival and large-scale dances, ranging from the Papuan War Dance, classical dances from Mangkunegaran, and the Kecak Dance, to various Nusantara Children’s Dances. The excitement continued with the Festival Nasi Campur Nusantara, snacks from 47 MSME tenants, and live entertainment featuring Endah Laras, RAN, Sang Mantan, and Element.
“We hoped the public would enjoy Sarinah Festiloka. This festival reflected Sarinah’s commitment as a member of the state-owned holding company InJourney, as well as our support for the creative economy through the arts, culture, and culinary heritage of Nusantara, which we proudly presented at Sarinah Thamrin,” added Raisha.
